My husband Craig and I found Luke(formerly Aiden) while searching for a dog on Petfinder. We we’re so excited when our adoption application was approved, however that was just the start of a very long journey. Luke came to live with us December 30th. We knew he would soon undergo 2 rounds of heartworm treatment. In March, we were sad to learn Luke still tested positive for the disease. He was a mess when Stop the Suffering rescued him from a rural shelter. Not only did he have heartworm, his teeth were in terrible condition, his ears were infected, and he has patches of fur that will never grow back. His sweet spirit still shines through. This 80lb lap dog has brought so much love and joy to us. Praying for negative heart worm test in November so he can be neutered and we can officially adopt Luke!
