Rules

ENTRY

Open to any rescued dogs or cats that reside in the United States. Your pet must be a rescue but does not need to be a Stop the Suffering alumnae.
All pets will be included in the calendar.
You may enter as many pets as you desire. Each pet entry is $5.
The 1^st Place Winner must be friendly with people, as they will need to be around our photographer for the photo shoot. The photo shoot will take place between OCTOBER 5 and OCTOBER 15, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. If the winner lives outside of the Columbus area and is not able to travel for the photo shoot, then the submitted photo will be used in its place.
All entries must be submitted via this website. We are not able to accept any submissions via email or mail.
All entries are required to list the name of the animals pictured in the photo, their age, city, state and a short bio about why your pet is unique.
Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery and will be open to voting by the public.
Once entered, photos become the property of Stop the Suffering and may be used for online, print, and marketing purposes.
We reserve the right to decline publication of any photography for any reason.
Top 12 Model winners will be notified by email on or about OCTOBER 5, 2017.
If winners cannot be contacted, or in the event of noncompliance with these rules and requirements, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.

PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS

Photos must be of good quality and high resolution, and able to be printed at a size of 8.5" x 11" without significant loss of quality. If your submission is low resolution or poor quality you will be asked for a better quality image.
Acceptable photo formats are .jpg, .png, .tif.
It is recommended that photos be in horizontal (landscape) format.
Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image.
Pets must be depicted in a safe environment setting in all entries.

THE FINE PRINT

Entries may be submitted and voted on from SEPTEMBER 5, 2017 at 12:00 AM EST until OCTOBER 5, 2017 AT 11:59:59 PM EST.
Donations are non-refundable and fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. Stop the Suffering is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All voters will receive email receipts for their contributions.
By participating in this contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Stop the Suffering and each of their officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the contest or receipt or use of any prize.
The contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
Stop the Suffering will not be responsible for incomplete, misdirected or illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Stop the Suffering.
Void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law.

ONLINE VOTING

Voting by the general public is available for a $1 donation per vote.
We encourage you to email the contest link to family and friends and encourage them to vote for your entry.
Persons may submit as many votes for as many photos as they wish.
All votes will be periodically tabulated and displayed on the contest website. There may be a temporary delay in displaying the most recent tabulations.
Voting begins on SEPTEMBER 5, 2017 at 12:00 AM EST and ends on OCTOBER 5, 2017 at 11:59:59 PM EST*.
Due to limitations of our automated tabulation system, there can be up to a 15 minute delay between when a donation is received/recorded and when it is reflected in the leaderboard on the contest website. All donations received before 11:59:59 PM EST on OCTOBER 5, 2017 will be honored. The leaderboard results are official.

*The ending time for online voting will be solely determined by the host website's server. Keep in mind that your clock may differ from the clock that determines the ending time, depending on your time zone.
