My husband Rick and I adopted Meesha from SHS in June 2013. She had been surrendered, then adopted out and returned twice for being "overactive and destructive". We had recently lost our male Newfoundland and still had our female Newfie at the time. I was not interested in adopting another dog, especially a pit, but my husband convinced me we needed her. As it turned out, he was right. Meesha is a sweet, smart, and loyal dog who just needed love and understanding. My husband tells everyone that Meesha saved him as we adopted her about a month before we lost my step-son to cancer. She totally bonded with her daddy and seemed to know he needed her. She loves her mommy too, but daddy is her favorite. She has a great life now thanks in part to Suncoast Humane Society!
