At just under a year old, Spud Cletus Funk is already redefining what it means to serve the public good. A Boston Terrier with an underbite for the ages and a grin that could charm even the crankiest mail carrier, Spud has the face of the everyman, and the heart of a true public servant.

A stick specialist by trade and sous chef by calling (specializing in floor snacks and fallen crumbs), Spud believes in simple pleasures and honest work. He’s playful, smart, and fiercely loyal — a dog of action, not empty promises.

When he’s not out greeting voters or taste-testing the people’s leftovers, Spud can be found strategizing with his sister Sprout, his most trusted advisor and running mate. Together, they represent the future of Tacoma — one squeaky toy, one muddy pawprint, one bitey-face match at a time.
