Contest Entry
  • To submit your pet's photo, a minimum $20 donation is required.
  • Entries must be submitted online. You may submit as many entries as you like.
  • Once entered, all photos become the property of the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County (HSPTC) and can be used, edited, or modified for print or marketing purposes.
  • Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate as determined by the staff of HSTPC will be removed from the photo contest.
  • Your pet does not have to be adopted from HSTPC to be eligible to enter this contest.

Photo Requirements
  • Photos should be in focus and of high quality, in either .jpg or .png format.
  • We cannot accept photos with digital overlays, photo stickers, doodles, or any digital effects.
  • Photos must contain only pets – no humans. Any entrant with people in the image will be asked to provide an alternative image or be disqualified from the contest.
  • Photos should contain only one pet. Any winning entrant with multiple pets in the image will be asked to select a singular pet to be featured on the van and/or apparel.
  • If photos include pets not owned by the person entering the photo, the entrant must receive written permission from the pet's owner for usage in the contest

Contest Voting
  • Each entry is $20.
  • Every $1 donation counts as one vote (minimum of five votes, or $5).
  • Due to processing costs, a minimum $5 donation is required
  • Votes are unlimited.
  • All donations from voting and entries are non-refundable.
  • Voting can be done online or by calling 253-284-5814. Votes over the phone must be received by 5pm on Thursday, March 9. After 5pm on March 9, only online voting will be allowed.
    • Voting in person at our shelter will not be allowed
  • An email address is required to make an online donation so a receipt with tax information can be sent to the donor. If you would not like to receive HSTPC news and solicitations via email in the future, there is a checkbox that you can un-check at the time of your donation.

Contest Deadlines
  • The submission period begins on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 9:00 am (Pacific Time).
  • The submission period ends on Thursday, March 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm (Pacific Time).
  • The voting period begins on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 9:00 am (Pacific Time).
  • The voting period ends on Thursday, March 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm (Pacific Time).

Contest Winners
  • Contest winners will be contacted by March 16, 2023, with information on their prizes.
  • If the potential winners fail to respond to email or phone communications by March 21, 2023, HSTPC may select an alternate potential winner in their place from the next non-winning, eligible top vote-getter.
    • HSTPC will reach out to the winner’s email or phone number provided in the winner’s GoGoPhoto Account
  • The Van Wrap installation will be completed in July 2023, approximately.
  • The Spring Limited Release Shelter Merch featuring 1st Place Winners in each category will be available for purchase May 16 – June 16, approximately.
  • Important Details for Photography Sessions:
    • Winning pets must be available for a photography session on one of these dates: March 18, March 25, or April 8.
      • An HSTPC staff member will act as a liaison between Van Gachnang Photography and the contest winners to schedule the photography session at a mutually agreed-upon time.
    • The photography session will take place in the winner’s home or location of choice, no more than 30 miles from the shelter (2608 Center St. Tacoma, WA 98409)
