About Your Pet
Lucy is a beautiful six-year-old blue chihuahua that came into our lives in 2016 as a rescue from an animal hoarding home in Jackson County. When we got her, she was living in a terrible situation, filthy, afraid of everything and shook constantly. Our goal was to socialize her and help her build trust while we found her a new home. After she settled in a bit, I began taking her to work with me so that she could learn that people can be good. After four months of coaxing her out of her shell and getting to enjoy her playful, sweet spirit, Lucy earned the title of "Failed Foster" when she and I both decided she had found her forever home.

While Lucy's still shy, she loves meeting new people and often tags along when I pick up my kids from school where she receives lots of pets from the others students. I never would have imagined our shaking Lucy, who was scared of everything, would end up enjoying the attention of so many elementary students, but this is just one of many ways this little girl shows the world she is small, but mighty and oh, so brave.

Most people can't help but smile when they meet Lucy. She's adorable with her giant eyes and massive ears. But what they can't see is her huge heart. This precious girl has overcome a tough beginning and chosen not to let it define her. Instead, she's found a way to push past her fear to put herself out there to experience a happy, joy-filled life. It's a lesson we could all benefit from. I'm just lucky I get a front row seat!
