About Your Pet
Gunther is an almost 5-year-old resident of Fat Cat Books and our resident grumpy-but-lovable king. His story began on the euthanasia list at a shelter in Orlando. In a single rescue trip, we saved Gunther and four other cats from scheduled euthanasia. After coming into our care, we discovered Gunther had arthritis—a condition often overlooked in cats but entirely manageable with monthly anti-inflammatory injections of Solensia. We ensure he gets his monthly shot to help with his pain.

Gunther has earned his reputation as the “grumpy gentleman” of Fat Cat Books. He may have a serious expression and an independent streak, but he’s stolen the hearts of everyone who meets him. Just this past weekend, a young visitor to the bookstore made him his very own toy—proving that even with his grouchy exterior, Gunther is unforgettable. While he’s still waiting for his perfect forever home, he knows he has a safe and loving space with us for as long as he needs.
