Your Pet's Rescue Story
Growing up doesn't mean that you are older than another, it means that you are no longer an amateur. This cannot be truer for Solaris and Solstice. 9 years ago, Solaris came to our home because a family bought her and chose to surrender her at 5 months old. Solaris was trained by our then 7-year-old Sydnie Jolene. Sydnie Jo would teach Solaris how to navigate between the public parades, nursing homes and events. Solaris accomplished this goal with amazing grace. History is now repeating itself with another young pup who was also purchased with the family choosing to surrender her because she was just too big at 13 weeks. Solaris is now 9 years old; it is time to retire. She is now the teacher with Solstice being the 13-week-old student. Solaris is teaching Solstice the same skills she was taught 9 years ago. Solstice is handling the parades and public interaction with the excitement of a young pup, and we know she will handle it all with grace. It is such a special gift to watch how this breed works together whether it be within a household or livestock guardian environment.
