Pet personality / Story of adoption / Why is your pet special?Marvel was a winter rescue for our family the week before Christmas school vacation. And what a wonderful miracle gift he was. Picked up crying / purring /barely audible on the side of a country road Marvel was so small he literally fit in the palm of your hand.
We had to feed him with a bottle dropper for well over a week 3-4x a day, carefully monitoring his weight progress to ensure he was gaining nourishment to survive. In the beginning when he fist got home, we did not think he would make it. He was so weak he could not move and not on his own for almost 7 days. After a week, the poor little guy could barely take steps and the pain and weakness overwhelmed him for at 3 weeks to a month. But he survived. And we cared for him, worked with him and the other fur family members adopted him. By Spring he literally had a spring in his step, could run, jump, and no one would ever know how close he was to perishing on the side of the road on that dark chilly frozen evening.
We named him Marvel for two reasons: One, he was a miracle gift "a true marvel" at the start of our holiday season that year. And two, our family likes Marvel comic super heroes and this baby kitten before our eyes transformed from a weakling to a formidable strong confident playful animated cat who over time, ruled the other senior cats in the house. He was an amazing cat with a spirit to live life to the fullest, and a toughness, a playfulness which made you laugh everyday at his personality. We will never ever forget Marvel and the life /the joy he brought in to the home for the years he shared with us.
