Adopted or Rescued?Yes
Pet personality / Story of adoption / Why is your pet special? The Plott Hound is the state dog of North Carolina and we are a animal loving family from N. Carolina. We adopted Dapper as a pup from a family member because Plotts are known to do well in homes with multiple dogs (even multiple pets).
The breed is also known for their powerful, streamlined body, intelligence, loyalty, and eager-to-please nature, originally bred from German blood hounds created to track bear and wild boar. And this makes sense to us because Dapper is fearless and very protective, especially of his food dish. He is also affectionate and friendly with everyone he meets and they say the Plott was a pack dog who enjoyed the comforts and companionship that comes from living in a pack. And that fits our home and our Dapper.
