Pet personality / Story of adoption / Why is your pet special?Galaxy is quite poised, very alert with striking piercing eyes. We got him as a puppy because we really wanted a Dalmatian when one became available. Our research had suggested the Dalmatian breed is super loyal to their family and really good with children. Galaxy is. When we are at the park he can run run run very fast and for long distances.
We found Galaxy easy to train because he is so intelligent. We liked the breed because they are so easy to spot (no pun intended) and his beautiful coat impresses people everywhere we go, he is a definite head turner. Our understanding from the National Kennel Association is that Dalmatians had an interesting past in world history originally bred as carriage dogs - which explains a lot of their characteristics and personality around a sense of duty, well trained, proper posture, etc… today. Galaxy is a good guard dog - strong and muscular, so he keeps us very active.
