If you are a cat or dog loving family and are an advocate for the adoption of shelter animals, we'd like you to help us identify the most adorable and funny furry friends around town.
Each year the McCook Humane Society and cat pack design a 12 month calendar featuring adopted & rescued cats and dogs. All photos submitted (within the contest rules) will be featured in a 2019 calendar. You do not need to be a resident of Red Willow County, NE to participate and support this shelter fundraiser. 100% of contest proceeds benefit the McCook Humane Society. The cats and dogs receiving the most votes will be featured in next years calendar and the top two voting photos will receive the honor of "Calendar Cover Models of the Year." 

Votes can be entered now through the contest deadline ending Monday, July, 9^th, 2018, 7:00pm CST. Vote for your favorite photo as often as you wish and encourage your family, friends, and place of work to vote for your favorite pet photos too. There is no limit to the number of votes one may cast. All contest voting donations are tax deductible and benefit the McCook Humane Society.

Two top winners (the one cat & one dog photo earning the most votes) will grace the cover of the 2019 calendar named, "Cover Models of the Year," and will be recognized as 2019 pack leaders in the McCook Humane Society calendar "Paw of Fame."  Each winning photo owner will also receive the first and second place prizes outlined in the "Contest Rules / Prizes" section.

The McCook Humane Society survives solely on the donations of our community, family members, partnering businesses and sponsors, and not for profit organizations who share a commitment to the southwest Nebraska /northwest Kansas animal shelter mission.  For the past six years all donations raised in the McCook pet photo contest (100% of all contest proceeds) have benefited the McCook Humane Society. 

The Cat Pack - Friends of the McCook Humane Society will be supporting the shelter by selling calendars and other merchandise at community events throughout the year.  The calendars will be available at The McCook Humane Society (100 South Street, McCook, NE) during normal shelter hours and at New Life Christian Bookstore in McCook (212 Norris Avenue) during normal store hours, and select southwest, Nebraska, northwest, Kansas retailers. The cat and dog images collected in this photo contest are used to populate next years McCook Humane Society 2019 calendar. 

Since 1983, the McCook Humane Society has provided a temporary home for puppies and kittens, as well as adult dogs and cats. The shelter staff, board leadership, and community volunteers are all dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas.

We are youth volunteers who are committed to the McCook Humane Society and its mission.  McCook Cat Pack activities include raising awareness about the joy of adopting shelter animals and hosting fundraising projects which raise donations for the shelter.  Cat Pack volunteers have served the McCook animal shelter since 2009.
