Pet personality / Story of adoption / Why is your pet special? We are from N. Carolina originally and the Plott Hound is the state dog of North Carolina. We received Dapper as a puppy from a family member. The Plott Hound breed is known for their powerful, streamlined body, intelligence, loyalty, and eager-to-please nature, originally bred from German blood hounds created to track bear and wild boar. This makes sense to us because Dapper is fearless and very protective, especially of his food dish. But he is also affectionate and friendly with everyone he meets. Plotts are known to do well in homes with multiple dogs and even multiple pets if introduced at a young age because they are a pack dog who enjoy the comforts and companionship that comes from living in a pack. And that fits our home and our Dapper.
