Rusty was adopted from the McCook Humane Society in 1996, at 11 weeks old. He loved to run out the front door, if he could, and reminded me of the old cartoon dogs with the ears streaming back and all four legs in the air. That was Rusty, if he got out. but he never went more than a block away. He grew up with our daughters and spent a week sleeping with one daughter, then would switch and spend the next week with the other daughter. When he got to sleep with mom and dad, he'd sleep so tight against the legs, that you couldn't move. The first time he had to be boarded, for a vacation away, my husband took him to the boarders but when he brought Rusty home, Rusty was mad at ME and wouldn't get anywhere near me for a few hours. He got over that though. lol He was very loving and snuggly and loved sleeping on my lap, on my afghan, when I had my footstool up on the sofa/recliner. He was a darling boy. The best dog I've even had. He lived to be 18 years old and we miss him still so very much.
