Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Unforgettable"?
Jaime was waiting for just the right dog at just the right time.

Volunteering at EASEL, the nonprofit rescue that manages the Ewing Animal Shelter, gave Jaime a sense of happiness and satisfaction.

Among many other tasks, she has been a dog walker, which has afforded Jaime the opportunity to interact with many special dogs. This interaction was particularly fulfilling for Jaime, as she had lost a beloved dog, and was giving herself space and time to properly grieve, heal, and finally open her heart and home to a new dog.

And so, Jaime waited patiently for that one perfect dog and the magical moment they would choose each other. Just this past April, an approximately 6 ½ year old pug, full to the brim with personality, was brought into EASEL. The instant that the two met, an unbreakable connection was formed. It was absolutely love at first sight.

Jaime named the little guy Gizmo, because of his physical resemblance to a gremlin and his quirky temperament. She adopted him.

Gizmo experienced a bit of separation anxiety while adjusting to his new routine with Jaime, but they quicky formed a trusting bond. Gizmo transformed into a silly cuddle bug who adores belly rubs. He still has his quirks-- snorting, snoring, and tilting his head at a comically quizzical angle.

While Jaime’s cat Daisy and he are still feeling each other out, Gizmo can’t get enough of other dogs. He loves both small and large dogs, and races around the dog park in joyful abandon, chasing and being chased.

Jamie cherishes her little man Gizmo and knows that her life is richer with him in it.
