We got Tiny when he was 12 weeks and had to put him to sleep when he was just 7 years old. He had become really sick with Liver disease early 2013 and we were told he might not make it. His liver had almost completely rehabilitated itself which is rare!! Then we started noticing him limping occasionally and took him to the vets when it became a steady limp to see what was up. He had a cancerous bone tumor and at that point it had already disintegrated a toe bone. Our option was to amputate his leg which even at 100+ lbs and a back leg we were strongly considering it however we were advised that the surgery/medicine would more than likely make his liver take a turn for the worse so he would have suffered either way and we just couldn't put him thru that. Not after he gave us 7 wonderful years of being a gentle giant. Everyone he encountered thought twice about Pitbulls as a breed and that is what he lived to do. That is what started our “Tiny Cause” – we wanted to continue to do good in his honor as he lived his life doing good for others – our family especially. He was a one of a kind dog and I often refer to him as my doggy soul mate. He took a part of each of our hearts when he left.
We raise money to donate to no kill animal shelters/rescues, help owners get their dogs/cats altered in our Jake’s Hip to Snip Spay/Neuter program, transport, foster/adopt out animals in need and have a pet pantry to help feed hungry pets - we do all of this in memory of Tiny!!
We officially became an actual rescue over the summer of 2018 - it’s a dream come true and after 4 years of closely working with others we felt it was the right time to continue to reinvent TinyCause and maximize doing good in his memory!!
