Rowena was rescued from TDR in 2020 after the first puppy mill bust that year. She came to us with missing toes, missing teeth, and a blind eye. But none of that slows her down a bit! She’s the funniest and sweetest little girl, even if she does have that Dachshund stubbornness and steals socks. In 2021, Rowena suffered from IVDD and underwent spinal cord surgery. She showed such resiliency and strength and came out of recovery happy, healthy, and with more energy than ever before. She is the light of our home, and she takes such good care of her adopted sister Allie (ft to the right of the photo), who is also a TDR rescue from the Mercer puppy mill bust. Fun fact about Rowena: she is named after the character Rowena Macleod from Supernatural, but more commonly answers to her nickname “Ro.”
