Adoption Story
Mokey and his siblings were rescued from a winery as kittens, and he was adopted by his Town Cats foster family. Due to his calm and patient nature, he started working as a therapy cat in November 2007. In his nearly 12 years of therapy work, he has visited nursing homes, hospice patients, Ronald McDonald House, libraries where children read to him, high schools and colleges for stress relief, and (we believe) was the first cat to start visiting an airport, San Jose Airport, where he still visits along with 25+ other pet/person teams. He visits with other cats, dogs (Crystal is his housemate, shown in the picture), rabbits, and many other pets, and proudly rides through facilities in his pet stroller.
