On October the 11th, 2014, our family was practicing skeet and trap at a Shooting sports club in Childersburg, AL.....I walked out onto the front porch of the club house looked down the range and saw a little bitty tiny black fur baby wandering around. I had to get closer to see if she would come to me. Nope! She ran right back into the woods through the cotton field. I sat in the middle of the field until she came to me...which took about 45 min! Finally, she's wriggling happily in my arms, tongue out, licking every square inch of my face. I asked everyone at the club house if they had ever seen her before, no one knew her. I fed her the only thing I had in my purse, a breakfast bar. From that moment on she followed me around everywhere. Two hours later, It was time to leave. My husband was against taking her with us because of the adjacent neighborhood and she could belong to someone. We all got into the vehicle to leave and my heart just broke. She followed us halfway down the dirt road running just as fast as she could to catch us. My husband got out of the truck to scare her away back to the clubhouse. She wasn't having any of that!!!! We drove even faster....She ran faster!!!! My oldest son opened up the truck door and she hopped right on in! She knew she had a new family! We stopped by petsmart to get a collar and a leash and some food and some treats and a new tag for our new baby! Oh, did I mention a new Halloween costume, she was a dragon! My youngest son named her Charlotte Bacon.....I don't know why, I just go with it! :-) :-) He loves her and she loves him!!! She is a stinker and full of personality! We love our little Bacon bit.
