Isis' life was saved in the nick of time on Sept. 1, 2012. Her emaciated body was teetering in the wind on the side of the road as cars whizzed by. Isis tried to run in fear from her rescuer, but collapsed in weakness. One kind soul had the compassion to stop, to call for help, to swoop her up in loving arms, to kiss her frail body. One kind act. One grateful tail wag. Taken in by Two by Two Rescue, I fostered her. She suffered from emotional and physical wounds of severe abuse, including total emaciation, dehydration, anemia, heartworms, internal parasites, ringworm, skin sores, worn teeth, and an injured left eye that was removed. With baby steps and time, she began to heal and thrive. Knowing it was meant to be, I adopted her December 24, 2013. Despite her horrid abuse and suffering she inspires us to forgive, to greet each day as a gift, to encourage others, and share our smile!
