I first picked Ellie (a/k/a "L") up from the vet to foster after her final heart worm treatment. Her prior history was indicative of a chained life with no food and/or water, eating dirt and rocks just to survive, and multiple foster homes. At approximately two years old, her teeth looked like she was sixteen... clearly a result of malnutrition and attempts at eating rocks to survive. We fell in love with her instantly, literally the very first night, and continue to do so more and more every day. She is gentle, sweet, and the best cuddle-bug I have ever met! There simply is no logic to the mistreatment of such a beauty. Today she is thriving. She and her brother, Chance (also a rescue), love to play often, wrestling and chasing each other around the back yard. You can always tell who's winning because Chance is mostly white and always very, very dirty!! HA!! My children love her, especially my two-year old. She is strong, healthy, and has now had her teeth cleaned and repaired! We certainly found a true gem... and she will forever be loved to the fullest... never again doing without or being mistreated. Ellie means "Shining Light" in Greek, and she has certainly been that for us.
