We adopted Sam from the Shelby County Human Society in March of 2014. He had not been taken very good care of, but I knew when I took him for a walk around the shelter, that he was just what my family needed. He looked up at me with those sweet brown eyes with that "please take me home look", and I was hooked. I changed his name, because I didn't want to bring up any bad memories for him. Sam has become such a huge part of our family. He is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet! He has a thousand different facial expressions and is so funny! He loves long walks, squeaky toys, peanut butter snacks and lots of cuddles and kisses. Unfortunately, he also loves chocolate, so we have to be very careful. One time my teenager set her chocolate chip cookie wrapped in plastic wrap on the kitchen table. We thought it was out of his reach, but before we could blink, Sam snatched it up and ran out the doggie door into the back yard with it. Before we could catch him, he had eaten it...plastic and all! That's our silly Sam, but we wouldn't have him any other way.
