Pet's Story or Bio
Ruffles came to TXHR with a gunshot wound to his back. With Denise Nerren Camp at his rescue, he went to Texas A&M for surgery and medical help.

Following that, he spent a few months as a medical foster with Whitney Barnes - and that's how I met him! She worked to allow him time and space to heal, but also put in some great foundation work on his training.

One night, he came out for some socialization to a group game night (pre-covid) and I immediately bonded with him. He had a goofy and playful nature that I found too perfect. He's just in general a really funny crittter. We decided to take him on trial a few days after meeting him - and that was it!

Since getting him, he's been gaining more endurance and is fully healed up. He runs, plays, and hikes like a champ. He's also been to Colorado and makes a great travel companion.

Honestly, there aren't many dogs like Ruffles. He's a low key and funny dude who is tremendously loved. Couldn't imagine not having him around! He cracks us up daily with his antics.
