Pet's Story or BioDenali was a rescue from Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter. He was chained in the backyard and purposed for breeding with another chained female. He would escape and visit construction workers who saw him abused, hungry, wounded, matted and neglected. This sweet boy and female were taken to the shelter. The shelter workers loved him and when he was to be euthanized, in desperation, contacted Peggy Smith- even driving him to Dallas for surrender. He was rehabilitated in the rescue and adopted by a good couple with an older male. Denali did not do well with the older male and in jealousy, attacked and drew blood. He was surrendered again to TX rescue and borded for 40 days with Vet Dallas Rescue. Peggy never stopped believing she would find a forever home for him. My husband and I adopted this sweetheart and discovered the extent of his abuse. He has a pellet lodged in his hip and has had a broken tail, missing teeth and PTSD - but things are much different now!!! He has “tummy love” (his own song sung to “Baby Love” (Supremes)). He walks twice a day/rain or shine, loves “snow bowls”, treat balls, truck rides, daily massages, and would wrote often to his Guardian Angel, Peggy, telling her how happy he is and thanking her and everyone for saving his life. To Guardian Angels everywhere, thank you for making a difference in all of our lives. Love Denali and his parents.
