Pet's Story
Mearl was found living in the streets of Texas before being rescued by two elderly women. They took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with heart worms. He stayed at the vet for a year as they treated him. Vet tech’s took turns bringing him home every night. During the day, he was the door greeter at the veterinarians office. After a year, they felt he needed a better life, so the transferred him to Seattle to find a new home. I had just signed up to be a foster with the rescue group that took him in. They paired us together upon his arrival. That was in August 2019. By November, he still did not have any potential adopters (plus we adored him), so we decided to make him ours forever. Although he’s older, we knew he needed some training. We started training in December 2019 and now we are preparing for him to earn his Canine Good Citizen certificate. He’s absolutely perfect!
