Pet's Story
Moose - my little human.

There was just something about Moose. I went to the store and across the way there was a pet adoption event at the pet store, there was Moose, then named David and about 30 or so other dogs waiting for their forever homes. Something about his face caught my eye. I had to leave, I just couldn't get him off my mind, we didn't have much money and needed to figure out how to get the adoption fee together. I spent the next couple hours hoping he would still be there when we came back and he was. 10 years later I am so grateful it all worked out. He's awesome!

Moose loves to curl up in a ball in the chair or bed and sleep the day away, always sure to have his nose covered, but when it's time to play he is full of energy. He loves to run and jump, often catching his frisbee mid-air. One of my hobbies is catching photos of him in the air. He is very vocal, often moaning, barking and growling, sometimes you would even think he's talking to you. If you try to move him from his comfy position he will let you know, especially at bedtime. It's not unusual to catch him on the couch sitting upright like a human or see him with his paws crossed when lounging on the floor. Moose loves car rides but is terrified of them at the same time, we think it has to do with how he was transported up here. He doesn't like to sit while he rides, if he does, it's often on top of one of one of his canine brothers.

Moose is a sweet, kind boy. When we brought him home he became a little brother to our chocolate lab Duke. Duke was so excited, he gave up sleeping with us to stay with Moose at night by his kennel. Moose and Duke were great buddies, they loved to play together, especially tug. Moose would always sleep curled up next to or on top of Duke, both right next to me while I worked. Two days after we had to say goodbye to Duke, Moose who has never been a lap dog, got up, walked over to me and crawled up on my lap. In that moment, I knew, he knew. I am not sure who was comforting who. It's a moment I will never forget, it meant so much to me.

A few months later we welcomed a little brother, a black lab named Axl to the family. It took Moose a solid two months to warm up to him. I was nervous to be honest, I thought we had made the wrong decision. One day, out of nowhere, Moose decided he was going to play with Axl and they have been best friends since.

I could go on about Moose, I was torn about submitting Moose, Axl or both of them. I thought, Axl is the younger dog and has gotten all the attention recently so let's make this one about Moose.

Thanks for taking the time to read about Moose and considering to vote for him!
