Pet's Story
Luna is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever. We rescued her from a barn in the middle of winter. The puppies only had warming lights and wood chips to lay on in below-freezing temperatures. The puppies had to compete for food and water stored in gallon-sized buckets. Their fur was very unhealthy and Luna had two different illnesses caused by bacteria that could have been taken care of through a vet visit. After a few months of us taking care of Luna, she improved greatly. She still had a bit of food aggression, but we have since worked through that. Luna also struggles with some reactive behaviors. She is not yet confident in all situations, but we are working through that. She has a loving and caring personality. She loves to snuggle with her humans and is very smart. Her grandma dropped mail on the ground and Luna, without being asked, went and picked them up. She has a sister named Winnie, and they are the best of friends. We could not imagine life without Luna.
