Pet's Story
Dobby, named after the house elf from Harry Potter, is a chihuahua/yorkie rescue from Missouri. He came from a bad hoarding situation and was in poor physical and emotional health. They originally thought he was around age 14 and a half due to his physical condition, and struggled with getting adopted due to his senior age. We came across his face on Petfinder shortly after our senior yorkie passed away from doggie dementia. There was something very special about Dobby's face that kept bringing us back to him, despite being many hours away! We adopted him and brought him home July 2023. Because of the love and rehabilitation he received from his foster mom, our vet estimated his age around 10. He has become extremely attached to his mom and dad and fears being alone for any amount of time. Dobby was diagnosed last year with panic disorder and has completed lots of separation anxiety training. He unfortunately "failed" and has to come with us wherever we go! Grocery shopping and restaurant visits have to be scheduled with a sitter, but we love him so much that we do not mind! Dobby brings so many snuggles, kisses, and warmth into our lives that we wouldn't have it any other way. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to save his life.
