April 2022 and August of 2024, the two times that Luka found himself at the City Dogs Shelter in Cleveland. The first time someone came to claim him, and the second time he was left sitting at the shelter. During his second stay Luka had to have a tail amputation due to injury in his kennel and volunteers said it didn’t slow him down. Despite all these hardships, when we showed up to meet him on October 5th 2024, he trusted us instantly. Luka has blossomed in his time at our home, making new friends, camping, going to the beach, and working toward his Canine Good Citizen certificate. Luka has never let being let down by his first family stop him from loving us with all he has. As our friends say, he doesn’t know a stranger, just a best friend he hasn’t met yet.
