Joseph was found in sub-zero temperatures around Christmas two years ago. From there, he became one of the longest residents at the Athens County Dog Shelter - waiting 133 days to find his family. Joseph had a rough first 10 years of his life but has since learned what it means to be loved and has quickly eased into retirement for his golden years. Joseph has undergone an incredible transformation - learning to enjoy the comforts of indoor life, snuggling up on soft blankets, exploring the smells on hikes, and figuring out life alongside his hound brothers, a cat, and chickens. Pretty amazing for an old hunting dog! Joseph has shown us the importance of giving shelter dogs, especially seniors, a chance at a new life.
