My dog is the Ultimate Underdog...
Tito was brought to Detroit Animal Care and Control as a stray before I met him (and fell in love with him) in Jan. 2020. When I first brought him home, you could tell he was skeptical of everything - not to mention he was heartworm positive. My goal was to make sure he knew what love and companionship were from then on out! He was timid and skittish, especially around new people, new places, loud noises, etc. I knew it would take a lot of patience, time, and love to get him to trust me. Over the last 4 years, I’ve watched him grow and become confident, and understand that the world isn’t such a scary place. Tito is the most loyal, curious, silly boy now that loves exploring new places (especially parks and going on hikes), meeting new people and doggo friends, and going on car rides (especially through drive thrus for Timbits and pup cups). He will even approach people on walks to sniff or ask if they have any treats in their pockets! He is the best boy and bestest friend I could ever ask for!

My dog is amazing because...
Tito is my first rescue dog and has the most unique personality of any dog I’ve ever met! He greets me every time I walk through the door with the “I love you” bow; he lets me know that he is the happiest boy on walks when he pauses to look back at me and ask for butt scratches, or when he boops my hand with his nose; he has the funniest facial expressions - especially when he’s in a playful mood or is standing next to you at the dinner table asking for a lil bite of whatever you’re having. He loves his stuffies and will “corn on the cob” nibble them every night around 8pm. He also loves playing fetch at the park because his favorite part is plopping down on the ball and rolling all over it. Did I mention that he LOVES being outside exploring and sniffing - walks and hikes are his absolute favorite! When I said he has the most unique personality, I meant it! I wouldn’t have it any other way!
