My dog is the Ultimate Underdog...
Hi! My name is Drifter- I could have submitted a cuter photo of myself for this, but I figured I should be authentic to my roots... DETROIT. You see, I spent my whole life on a chain in Detroit, then I faced euthanasia and was rescued at the very last minute, only to become paralyzed within 24 hours with a very rare condition, Polyradiculoneuritis. The nice Doctor explained that the condition can be fatal or can see very long recovery... I was 100% paralyzed in my whole body, but my foster mom believed in me the whole time. She turned over every stone possible and Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine answered her calls for help. We had some scary moments, but through grace, a miracle unfolded before our eyes... a paw twitch turned to a shoulder shrug, then to running in my dreams, then rolling over... then eventually, I stood, and gingerly walked. I can now run, play, and pitter patter without Disability. I am a heartworm survivor, chain life warrior, euthanasia eluder, and from what my Foster mom and Adoptive Mom tell me, I have inspired some people... weird huh? Just an old boy from Detroit....

My dog is amazing because...
Drifter is a miracle and we don't say that lightly. Against all the odds, he overcomes and amazes. He is a lover and give the best cuddles of any dog we've ever met, he loves with his entire body. You can feel and see his gratefulness in every cuddle and every smile.
