Ruby came from a rough start in life, where she was passed off as a $3000 designer “purse dog.” The elderly woman that got her recognized Ruby’s need for more. So she posted to re-home her. We had lost our dog two years prior and she was a mix of all the things we were looking for.

Ruby lives her BEST life with homemade dog food, trips to Moms school to see her students, chasing geese on Torch Lake, playing with her kids Nick & Mila, but most of all spending time with her Dad. Ruby and Dad are adventure buddies and she keeps up with him … or he keeps up with her. They kayak, bike, ski… you name it. Not sure who encourages it, but they keep each other company!

I’m a teacher in the Upper Peninsula with two children of my own. I am deeply committed to increasing awareness of child and animal abuse, educating others about prevention and intervention, and supporting efforts to end all forms of abuse and neglect.

I’d adopt every animal if I could myself. Everyone deserves the chance to have a good life and be loved. ❤️
