"Mom, the neighbor cat is back again, looking in through the window from outside!"
Striker was shy and quiet most of the time, but was always aware of what was going on around him. When he would investigate something, his eyes would become large saucers, focusing on whatever had caught his eye. He would stand guard, watching and protecting the house from every squirrel, bird, neighborhood cat, or bug that ventured into his territory. The bugs never stood a chance. He was a protector and my companion. He loved his family, and his family loved him.

Not only does UPAWS take in stray or abandoned animals, but it also helps reunite owners with lost animals. If a pet has been lost and brought into the shelter, UPAWS does all it can to reunite it with its family. They also educate the public on the responsibilities of pet ownership.
