Mike was rescued from the VBSPCA at 3 months old. Having survived a case of PARVO when first brought home, he became a universal blood donor. He has been trained as a certified Therapy Dog through AKC CGC and TDI and is in the VBSPCA Listening Ears program. He visits his readers every Friday during the school year and also visits with the ID children. Mike is also involved with Edmarc Hospice for children in the Peace by Piece program. He has attended several funerals along with the Virginia Patriot Guard providing comfort to friends and family. Mike was 2014 Volunteer of the Year at Pembroke Elementary School. Up until this past year, he was a avid 5K runner even with his own J&A Race account (boys 12 and under) participating in many Wounded Warrior Runs.
