Why everyone should vote for my animal
Mukwa is from the beautiful First Nation community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug in Northern Ontario. He was a pack dog who had been hurt and was flown South to seek medical attention. I was visiting this wonderful Nation at the time and was on the same flight with him to Thunder Bay.
I waited patiently for the person who was picking him up at the airport and volunteered to assist them. I explained my close connection to the K.I. community and my desire to adopt him. Thankfully he was being transported to Barrie.
Two weeks later after a lot of persistence, we adopted Mukwa (bear).
He has been with us for over 8 years and has been the joy of our lives. He has come along way from being a self-sufficient pup who had to hunt for his own food to transitioning to urban life down south.
