We adopted Ruger from GSP Care of Ohio in December of 2002. He was at a rural shelter in Indiana and no one knew what to label him as so no breed specific rescue would take him. GSP Care of Ohio took him regardless of his breed. He went through 4 foster homes in a 2 month time. They were very honest about his separation anxiety and high energy level but we fell in love anyways! We had a DNA test done and it was determined he is 85% weim and the other 15% is too close to determine. With his blanket suckling, crate killing, freezer eating, counter surfing, velcro attachment, pacing gait ways, we have no doubt he is weim!! It took us about 7 years to figure out what works best for him and we wouldn't change a thing, even to have our destroyed doors back!! He turned 16 this year and even though he has slowed down slightly, he is still our goofy Ruger only a mother could love!

Tell us about your pets funny quirks, habits and personality!
We always have fleece blankets in the house for Ruger. He will suckle on it like a baby with a pacifier! It helps calm him down when he gets stressed or he will just fall asleep with one in his mouth.
