Santa delivered Remy to our family one magical Christmas. What our family did not know was that Remy came full of even more unexpected surprises. Santa, the tricky guy that he is, had quite a few things planned for our family. It was discovered 3 days after Remy's arrival that he was terribly ill and fighting for his life due to unfortunate and heartbreaking breeding conditions. Remy at 16 weeks of age had never been outside of a small crate, had never been given a bowl of water, was only fed the minimum food mixed with minimal water to sustain survival, was severely dehydrated, had the worst ear infection our vet had seen in approximately 15 years of practice, and had kennel cough. Remy was irresponsibly injected with too many vaccines administered too closely together causing complications. He had a lameness leg and suffered from a condition known as Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy which is a painful bone disease that affects the bones and their growth and can even cause harm to the soft tissue of organs. Thankfully Santa rescued him, delivered him to a family that loves him and cared for him. His humans are better people because of him. He has inspired his humans to advocate for Weimaraners helping shut down his specific breeder and volunteer to rescue local Weimaraners. Remy is working on obedience training and plans to get good canine citizen trained in hopes of volunteering at the children's hospital. He is a strong, healthy, handsome (if my bias self may say so) guy that we pray we will be blessed with for many snows to come!

Tell us about your pets funny quirks, habits and personality!
Remy is a true Weim! He is a quirky, velcro dog that is simply adored! Remy is so incredibly smart...actually a little too smart for his own good at times. He enjoys running, playing with his rescued sister named "River" (a Plott Hound), and fetching tennis balls. He is incredibly gentle with both humans and even cats believe it or not. I can't say the same for his prey drive to chase rabbits, toads, and lizards in the backyard. By the end of each busy day, he hops into the bed with his head on the pillow. His human has to scoot him over which is often followed by him grunting out of disgust that he actually has to move over. He is then kissed on his head and cuddled. What a rough life! Remy has undergone some obedience training and is working towards becoming good canine citizen trained in hopes that he can volunteer at the children's hospital. His humans are truly blessed beyond measure!!!
