2020 Pawscar Awards Official Rules

Proceeds from this event will provide care to homeless animals throughout the Wenatchee Valley.


Nominees may be any pet residing in Chelan or Douglas County. Pets owned by sponsors and their employees or family members are not eligible to participate in category directly sponsored by said company sponsor, but are encouraged to nominate pets in all other categories, including People's Choice.

Individuals may nominate their pet for multiple categories, but must submit a separate nomination form for each category. Pets can only be nominated once per category. Photos must be submitted by the pet owner. Photos taken by a minor must be submitted by a legal guardian.

Each nomination should have a BRIEF caption, relevant to the category (25 words or less) for their photo.

Nominations are made by submitting a photo of your pet through the nomination form online. All submitted photos become the property of Wenatchee Valley Humane Society to be used at their discretion for any and all marketing purposes.


Submit your pet's photo with a completed online entry form for $25, except for People's Choice, which is a free submission with paid voting. To be considered for an award, nominations must be submitted by Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:59:59 pm.


People's choice is voted on by the public, online. Each vote for a People's Choice Nomination is a $1 donation, so vote early and vote often! Credit cards are accepted via a secure server. Every vote is tax deductible and goes to a great cause. Encourage your friends and family to vote for your picture online by emailing links and sharing on social media! Voting for People's Choice ends Friday, February 14, 2019 at noon PST. Winning nomination is the photo with the highest voting total and will be revealed at the Pawcars Awards Gala on February 15th.

For all other categories, three finalists in each category will be chosen by category sponsors between February 8-13, 2020 and winners will be selected live at the Pawscars Awards Gala on February 15th, utilizing smartphone text voting.

If you have submitted a nominee, we hope you'll join us at this red carpet event for the big reveals. If your pet is selected as a winner, you'll accept the award on stage that night! Award winners will be presented with a Pawscar Award and will also be posted on the WVHS website and WVHS Facebook page the week following the event.
