Pet's Story
Bastian was found as a stray in Longview. He was blind and about 8 months old. Standard poodle. (Our friends say he's sub-standard!) Transfered to Oregon humane society since it is a no kill shelter. We already had a perfect standard poodle, and wanted to give a shelter dog a good life. He was in foster care for his blindness and food aggression. We were told to feed him in a kennel or he'd bite. Well, we knew patience and love could fix anything! It did, but it's been a lot of work. He still has "temper tantrums", but they're short and harmless (a little scary if you've never seen it). He's so cute. Not for the faint of heart, but we wouldn't trade him for anything. Love that we have given him the chance he deserved with such a rough start. Imagine being blind, a baby, and roaming the streets!
He can eat from my hand, play chase the momma, and follow you at the dog park off leash just with voice recognition. He's amazing!
