Pet's Story
We adopted Dakota from the Humane Society of Southwest Washington 4/17/16. We were visiting the Humane Society looking for a puppy, after our dog Saturn died. On our way out, we stopped to walk through one of the pods. Dakota had me at hello when she pressed her body against the bars so I could pet her. She was on hold for someone else but I felt a connection. So the next day I called to see if she was still there and found out she was available. She had been picked up twice as a stray, once in 2014 and again in 2016. Her owners were called but they didn't want her back. Bringing Dakota home and feeling the love from her helped heal my heart and brought back my smile. Dakota is fun, spirited, food stealing, super athletic dog that has stolen my heart.
