Spree was abandoned in a house by her former owner, after he lost the house to foreclosure. She desperately looked for an escape and eventually found a second floor window she could open. She jumped, tearing ligaments in both knees. The local police took her to West Place, which is where I found her. It was love at first sight and we fostered her while they went after the owner. My husband had cancer and wanted a dog. She was perfect. A Great Pyrenees mix, Spree was the gentlest, best behaved dog we ever had. As Mike's condition declined, she watched over him, and personally greeted all the nurses and caregivers who came to the house. She won everyone's heart. After he died, she was my constant companion and a huge source of comfort. I lost her to cancer in September 2020 but she remains in my heart.
