Your Cat's Story or Bio
Our Joey (lovingly known as “Malm”) was rescued (along with his sister, Phoebe) by Whiskers of Love Sanctuary and Rescue while living at a Philadelphia prison. He became a part of our lives around 2 months old. Just younger than 1.5 years old, we learned that he was born with a congenital heart disease (HOCM) and would likely enter heart failure within the next year. Amidst our breaking hearts, Joey provided our family (3 brothers and 2 mommy’s) with unconditional support, affection, and love. In countless ways, he showed us an entirely new meaning of presence – a more wholesome experience, which we continue to hold dear in our hearts. This meant filling our time together with plush blanket biscuits, chicken/salmon/tuna puree, bug hunting, springy toys, scratch pads, crinkle tunnels, bird watching, hide and seek, unlimited cuddles, and singing our favorite songs. Despite his failing heart, Joey remained flawlessly resilient, strong, comforting, and devoted until the very end. There are truly no words to describe how amazing he is, how thankful we are, and how perfectly he completed our family. We miss him beyond words and want to share some of our favorite memories with our wonderful Whiskers community.
We couldn’t think of a more impactful way to honor him than by participating in the contest; however, it became even more meaningful to pay our donations forward, as he had unexpectedly passed during the contest running. We know that Joey would love to help others in need, and in his name, we are able to spread an abundance of the love he had shared so purely during his time on Earth. We are fur’ever thankful to Whiskers of Love for giving Joey and our family the happiest 2 years of our lives. Featured below are some of our favorite pictures, including one with his Whiskers brother (Finley) and older brothers (Bink and Duncan). We love you (always),
