Pet's Story or BioMacie Mae, aka MaeMae, came from a cat hoarding situation in northern Wisconsin, transferred to Green Bay and then to the Ozaukee Humane Society. I went to see her in June of 2018 and was told she was very shy, withdrawn and did not interact with staff. I entered her "condo", sat on the floor and just talked to her. To my amazement, and the staff member with me, she came out of her hiding area, came onto my lap and was purring, loudly! I leaned over, stroking her head and whispered "You're coming home with me little girl". Took care of the paperwork and off we went. Once home, it was a lengthy adjustment period. She stayed in a large closet and didn't want to come out. So, I would go in, turn on the light and read to her so she would get used to my voice. Once she was tired of the closet, she liked being under the bed. With a lot of coaxing and me laying on the floor next to the bed, she finally came out and realized she was home and safe. Thanks for choosing me MaeMae, I love you!
