Pet's Story or BioTo Know Bruno is to Love Bruno
This big-hearted, 100+ pound pittie boy perfectly embodies the phrase: “People save animals, and animals save people.”
After spending over six long months in the shelter, Bruno was emotionally and physically pushed to his limit. His playful spirit dimmed under the weight of shelter stress — until a compassionate team member, who had fallen in love with his sweet soul, stepped in and became his foster mom. Her goal: to give him a chance to heal.
Meanwhile, I had just lost my beloved dog Clifford in November 2024. A month later, while dropping off donations at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Green Bay Campus, I met Bruno’s foster mom, Tanya. I truly believe that moment wasn’t just coincidence — it was fate. Within a week, my daughter and I went to meet Bruno… and that’s when my Christmas miracle happened: Bruno adopted me.
Thanks to the love, care, and devotion of his foster family, Bruno got the second chance he so deeply deserved — and I got the piece of my heart I didn’t know was missing. Without fosters like Tanya, Bruno’s story might have ended very differently.
Today, Bruno is living his best life — adored by everyone he meets, including me, his foster mom, my grandson, and his entire extended family (now his family too). This jolly, gentle boy shows his gratitude every single day — with snuggles, tail wags, polite walks, and by proudly sharing every stuffy toy he can get his paws on. He’s never met a stranger, never has a bad day, and never stops loving.
Bruno was rescued… but really, he rescued me. And he is loved more than words can
