Tell us a bit about your pet, what their story is & how they have changed your life for the better!
Our family dog of 10 years unfortunately drowned in our pond on my birthday in 2019. Happening right after my mom passed away of dementia, our hearts were broken and the house was far too quiet, so we began the search for an adult small dog. We saw Chase, a border collie mix puppy. Though we weren't in search of a puppy, we were in love and I sobbed when he was brought out to me to take home as I never really realized the void that was being filled by this sweet face. Chase picked up on obedience immediately and instead of being a "puppy" with the chewing and potty problems, he quickly became my running companion, happily logging many miles a day, being trained in the process for therapy dog services soon with the goal of taking him to assisted living facilities and my school!
