Tell voters something fun or interesting about the dog in the photo. Is this a WRS dog or rescued from another organization? If so, when was it adopted? Share something special that we could include on our calendar if your photo wins.
Opie, aka Dale, was one of the Willow 12, all rescues including his Mom Willow, adopted from WRS. He loved swimming, hiking, the beach, long walks, playing, running, jumping, adventures, and was very athletic. He really loved his peeps and our other WRS rescues, Jackson and Miranda, particularly Miranda. He was quite the character - bed shredder, shark swallower, and a howler - so many stories... He was a very sweet affectionate goofball that required all of his toys and bedding to be in a certain order, and if you did not get it just right, he would let you know. He was a big personality very vocal, with a wide range of utterances, from high pitched chirps, to a very deep, sharp bark, to grumbles, always "talking". On Monday August 8, 2022 we lost our beloved Opie after a brief but valiant battle to a combination of hemangioma sarcoma and Immune Mediated Poly-Arthritis - IMPA. Together the two proved to be insurmountable for our poor boy. We loved and still love him very much, miss him terribly. He is now pain free running in the heavens alongside Miranda and Jackson, and will forever be in our hearts. We are so grateful to WRS for all of the weims they have saved, and the weims they have blessed us with. We also are very thankful and appreciative for the support of "Willow's Puppies Parents" through this incredibly difficult time.
