2024 Critter Calendar & Pet Photo Contest

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (YVAS) is thrilled to announce our first-ever Critter Calendar & Pet Photo Contest!

Think your pet has what it takes to be a model? Show off your furry friend while helping support the animals of YVAS. To learn more about the mission of YVAS, click here.

Submit your pet's photo for just $10 for the chance to have your pet featured in our 2024 Critter Calendar. Then, ask your friends and family to vote for them through a $1 per-vote donation ($5 minimum). All proceeds from entry costs and voting are tax-deductible and will help save the most vulnerable animals right here in our community. Our winners not only receive bragging rights for the next year, but our top 11 spots will receive a professional photoshoot of your pet to be featured as a pet of the month in our 2024 Critter Calendar! We will also be awarding 12 runner-up spots whose entry photos will be featured in our 2024 Critter Calendar. Be sure to check out the full details on all of our prizes.

Prizes

First Prizes (11):

The top 11 photos with the most votes will be our First Prize winners.
Our First Prize winners will have their pet’s photo featured on one month inside of the 2024 calendar. The photos will be taken by a professional photographer and winners will be contacted to schedule the date & time of the photoshoot.
Winners will receive a 2024 calendar by mail.

Judge’s Choice (1):

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter staff will choose one (1) winner for this category.
Our Judge’s Choice winner will have their pet’s photo featured on one month inside of the 2024 calendar. The photos will be taken by a professional photographer and the winner will be contacted to schedule the date & time of the photoshoot.
Winners will receive a 2024 calendar by mail.

Runners-Up:

Runners-Up will have their entrant photo featured within the 2024 calendar.

Rules

Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (YVAS) to be eligible to enter the contest.
Photos may only contain one pet and should not include any humans.
Photos must be high-resolution to be considered for the calendar.
Photos must be full-color, no heavily filtered, edited, or altered photos.
If your entry was taken by a professional or commercial photographer, you must send a signed copyright release to tiffany.smith@yvas.org.
First Prize winners and our Judge's Choice winner must be able to bring their pet to a Billings photography studio for a photo shoot during the month of September. Any winners unable to attend the photoshoot will forfeit their prize(s) and be awarded as a Runner-Up instead. The contestant with the next highest vote will be chosen to take their place.
Photos deemed offensive, indecent, or obscene will be removed from the contest.
Photos must receive at least five (5) votes to be included in the 2024 calendar.
All online photo entries must be submitted by 9:00:00 PM (Mountain Time) on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
All photos submitted become the property of Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (YVAS).
