I had previously inquired about this dog with Stanly County Animal Control. I received a message one morning that he was to be euthanized in 4 hours. I immediately went to the pound to get him. When I arrived at the pound, all the dogs were barking and jumping except for this one. He was quiet and calm, and when I put my hand up to his cage, he rubbed his face against it. I adopted him right then. Stanley quickly became a cherished member of our family. He was so gentle and calm. He was protector of my children when they were infants, and their best friend as they got older. We were devastated when we learned last year that Stanley had pancreatic cancer. We lost our sweet Stanley this past April and not a day goes by where we don't think about him or talk about him. We continue to rescue dogs in his memory, but there will never be another Stanley. We miss you, sweet boy!
