Your Pet's Story or Bio / What Makes Them Unique
Frankie was used as a backyard breeding dog and turned into animal control in dire shape when they could no longer use her to make money. She had a tumor grown on her ear that was the size of her head, a large mammary tumor, an infected uterus, infected ovaries, completely matted fur, and a mouth full of rotted teeth.

Greater Charlotte SPCA agreed to help her and she was immediately taken to the vet for multiple surgeries even though it was unclear if she would even pull through. She amazed everyone and not only pulled through but her tumors were all benin. She was given the name Frankenweenie because she had cuts and staples practically all over her body from all of the surgeries she needed. Everyone was afraid to even pick her up for several weeks while she recovered.

I met Frankie and took her home with me after her first adoption event to meet a family that was interested in adopting her. Event though she has the most amazingly sweet personality, they could not see past her scars. The next day I took her to meet another family - and they too could not see the inside beauty of this dog, only the scars from her past on the outside. As soon as we got back in the car from meeting the second family, she hugged me so tight and kissed me…at that moment she was mine forever.

I fell in love with Frankie from the second I met her - I didn't care what she looked like on the outside. She is a true testament to how unconditional a dogs' love is for humans - even after everything she had been through. Today, her beautiful fur has all grown back in and hides all of the scars from her terrible past. She is an amazing dog, healthy now and full of life. She is so happy all the time! I am forever grateful for rescue and Greater Charlotte SPCA for giving Frankie a second chance at a life she was so deserving of. She is my poo girl and I cannot imagine my life without her!
